Dr. Yara El GHALAYINI
Dr. Yara El Ghalayini is a citizen of Jordan. She holds a Ph.D. and master’s degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Granada in Spain, in addition to a master’s degree in Diplomatic Studies from the University of Jordan. Her journey with the olive oil has started with her doctoral thesis, in which the olive tree, olives, and olive oil have been analyzed from a linguistics point of view in three regions (Spain, North Africa, and the Middle East) in an interdisciplinary context where linguistics, culture, agronomy, and biology intersect. She is an expert taster and judge in the Sol d’Oro International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition. She has received her training in olive oil tasting with a panel certified by the International Olive Council and has several publications on the olive tree and olive oil culture and history among Spanish and Arab speaking peoples.
